Sustainable and eco-friendly, silk comes in many forms. From the better known ‘silky’, smooth to the more textured organic tussar, eri and ahimsa or peace silks, they all have an amazing lustre. With its natural properties, silk is comfortable to wear at any time of the year.
Fluid and luxurious habutai silk scarves with various designs created using a technique called Itajime, a form of resist dyeing. Each hand-hemmed scarf is individually folded, clamped, dyed then re-dyed by two of India's master artisans in Gujarat, western India. Wear these light as a feather scarves instead of jewellery to brighten an outfit. Due to the handmade process in making these scarves, no two items will be identical but all are beautifully individual.

The Eclipse Wild Silk Scarf is woven by hand from naturally textured wild silk, with a distinctive character that machine-made fabrics cannot replicate. Light catches the weave to reveal subtle tonal variations, giving the scarf quiet depth and elegance without being overpowering. The more it's worn the softer it will become
Wild silk has a lustrous finish and a rich texture that sets it apart from the usual mulberry silk. It feels light against the skin, yet provides warmth when the temperature drops, making Eclipse a scarf you'll reach for throughout the year.
Each scarf is handwoven by skilled artisan weavers using traditional techniques that have been passed down through generations. As every piece is woven individually, slight variations in texture and colour are part of its character, making each scarf genuinely unique.
Designed for women who value timeless style and lasting quality, Eclipse works just as beautifully with relaxed linen and denim as it does with tailoring, knitwear or occasion dressing. It is an effortless way to add colour, texture and refinement to an outfit without following passing trends.
At SookiTwist, we believe beautiful accessories should also have a positive story. Eclipse is ethically made through Fair Trade partnerships that support skilled craftspeople with sustainable employment, fair pay and the opportunity to preserve traditional weaving skills.
Whether you are choosing a luxury silk scarf for yourself or looking for a thoughtful gift, Eclipse is made to be worn, enjoyed and treasured for many year

Eco-Printing is the technique in which flowers, leaves, berries, and stems transfer their imprints onto fabric by the process of steaming. Here we have the most beautiful pieces that have been designed for us using Cosmos flowers, Eupatorium leaves and Silver Oak leaves, all found in the verdant hills and gardens of Munnar in Kerala where they are created.
For variety, we have had some sprinkles of natural dyes added to two of the scarves. Roots from Madder, a plant belonging to the coffee family, add the dusting of red to the Cosmos scarf, and Lac, a resinous substance secreted by the Lac beetle, adding plummy tones to the Eupatorium scarves.
At 28grams this is the finest of Mulberry silk, so soft and fluid you’ll hardly know you are wearing it. The kaftans (40gram silk) are the most sensual of pieces, particularly the golden Silver Oak print, which drapes and flows exquisitely.
These amazing pieces are created by specially-abled people who have been trained by world-renowned scholars in the fields of indigo dye and resist dye techniques. Ethical and sustainable methods are used in the creation of these textiles. Due to the the nature of the process in creating these pieces, no two will ever be identical.

Sustainable, natural silk, hand block printed and woven in bold patterns and colours. This organic or Eri silk is created without harming silkworms in a completely natural environment. These have a smoother feel than that of the Tussar silk but still have some texture, unlike the more common mulberry silk.
Neesha Amrish has built her label block by block! She began her journey six years ago with a one - table workshop in a non-descript studio trying to go Organic with block prints and homespun textiles. Her vibrant colour stories, intense geometrical motifs, and fuss-free styling appeal to a very niche clientele. There has been no looking back since. Several fashion houses in Europe carry her line, her latest being showcased at the very prestigious "Victoria and Albert Museum", London - the World's greatest Museum of Art and Design.
The scarves are ethically made and fair trade, giving employment to many artisans in rural areas keeping the tradition of handcraft alive. As they are 100% handmade you may find on occasion that they are perfectly imperfect but that all adds to their individuality. With care, these will last for many years.

These exquisite scarves and wraps are made from the finest handwoven Tussar silk covered in handstitched Kantha embroidery. Every piece is an individual work of art and takes at least a month to produce. They are lovingly created by ladies from a women's producer group in West Bengal giving them the chance to earn a living whilst working from their village homes and supporting their families.
Stunning for any occasion, these pieces can be worn as a shawl around the shoulders or scrunched as a scarf. So beautiful, especially for a special occasion when you want to stand out from the crowd but are equally happy paired with jeans and a jumper. The texture of this natural silk is light and crisp unlike the usual mulberry silk, but with wear and time will soften beautifully.
Due to the nature of the production, there may be irregularities but this is all part of their charm. Note also that they are not lined so there may be loose threads on the reverse showing the handiwork. Do take care of these and they will become a treasure to be passed on through the years.
