Style with a story.
These beautiful silk scarves have had another life and I so love that.
Pre-loved saris are sourced in the markets of Delhi and sorted by quality. Seamstresses select two layers of fabrics, either contrasting or complementary, and painstakingly stitch them together using a fine Kantha, or running stitch. These ‘one of a kind’ treasures are completely unique and no two are ever the same. They are created by ladies at a women's cooperative in West Bengal which enables them to earn a regular income in safe surroundings. The initials of the seamstress can be found embroidered in the corner of each garment as an artist signs a painting. They are a zero-waste and carbon-neutral product.
“Received a gorgeous ‘Dusk’ shawl as a birthday gift from a friend, I absolutely love it. It is beautifully handmade and I appreciate the company ethics. It sits as a wrap/shawl as slightly thicker than a scarf and even draped on my shoulders is surprisingly warm. Perfect for a chilly evening. It is so beautiful, it is left draping on my sofa as it happens to co-ordinate perfectly with my cushions!”
